All horses competing at the Cheltenham Festival this year, are required to provide the BHA with 45 days’ worth of medication records.

All horses will be subject to a pre-race examination, and Trainers who consider a horse which they have entered to be a poor mover are required to notify the BHA and provide further information and evidence, ahead of raceday, allowing the BHA Veterinary Panel to make a better informed decision as to whether that horse is suitable to race.

These new rules have come out of the Cheltenham Review undertaken after last years' Festival. The BHA have produced a video outlining further information on this featuring their Director of Equine Health and Welfare, David Sykes:
