Challenger Series

The Challenger Series consists of qualifiers in each of the following categories, culminating in finals day at Haydock Park in April. 
 

E.B.F. & T.B.A. Mares' Novices'  Steeple Chase Series

The E.B.F. & T.B.A. Mares' Novices' Steeple Chase Series culminates in the final to be run over two miles about five furlongs at Cheltenham in April.

Qualification for the final requires horses to have finished in the first eight in an E.B.F. and T.B.A. Mares' Novices' Steeple Chase Qualifier during the current season.
 

E.B.F. Mares' National Hunt Flat Race Series

The E.B.F. Mares' National Hunt Flat Race Series culminates in the final to be run over about two miles at Sandown Park in March.

Qualification for the final requires horses to have been placed in the first six in an E.B.F. Mares' National Hunt Flat Race Series Qualifier during the current season
 

E.B.F. Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Series

The E.B.F. Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Series culminates in the final to be run over two miles about four and a half furlongs at Newbury in March.

Qualification for the final requires horses to have finished in the first six in an E.B.F. Mares' 'National Hunt' Novices' or Maiden Hurdle Race Series Qualifier during the current season.

 

E.B.F. 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Series

The E.B.F. 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle Series culminates in the final to be run over two miles about four furlongs at Sandown Park on in March.

Qualification for the final requires horses, prior to March 4th, to have been placed first, second, third or fourth in an E.B.F. 'National Hunt' Novices' or Maiden Hurdle race Series Qualifier during the current season

 

Northern Lights Series

The British Horseracing Authority is pleased to announce details of the 2018/19 Northern Lights Series, designed to provide greater opportunities for mid-tier jump horses at Northern racecourses.

100 qualifying races will be held at 14 jump racecourses, north of and including Doncaster Racecourse. The qualifiers will start from December 2nd, 2018, culminating in a valuable Finals day, which will be held at Carlisle Racecourse on December 1st, 2019.

The five Series are:

. 3m Handicap Chase Series
. 2½m Handicap Chase Series
. 2m Handicap Hurdle Series
. 3m Handicap Hurdle Series
. 2½m Mares’ Handicap Hurdle Series

 

Veterans Chase Series

Popular with the racing public and horsemen alike, Veterans Chases showcase the talents of the elder statesmen of the track.

The Series, worth £400,000 in total, was programmed by the BHA to generate opportunities for 10–year-old-plus Chasers who may have found winning opportunities limited in other valuable races. Eight of the races provide a competitive centrepiece race on Sunday cards.

The Series will culminate in a final at Sandown Park on Tolworth Hurdle day.

Each of the 10 qualifying races have a minimum total prize fund of £30,000 with the final offering £100,000 in prize money. Any horse that takes part in one of the qualifying races will be eligible to enter the Final.
