Guide to Racehorse Ownership

The ROA’s Guide to Racehorse Ownership is a 60-page online resource, designed to provide a handbook for existing and potential racehorse owners. The Guide covers a broad range of subjects, designed to demystify racehorse ownership and make it more accessible to a wider audience.

The Guide, which has been edited by bloodstock journalist Emma Berry, comprises ten sections covering many of the keys aspects of racehorse ownership, including how to go about selecting a horse, how to get the most out of the experience and likely costs. There is information related to going racing for owners with a runner and considerations when a horse’s racing career comes to an end.

It has been produced by the ROA with the support of the British Horseracing Grant Scheme. The Grant Scheme is administered by the British Horseracing Authority on behalf of the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
