Photo Finish - day 6

The Queen and Ryan Moore
Date: 16.06.16
Location: Ascot Racecourse
Race: Gold Cup, won by Order of St George
Camera: Canon EOS-1D X
Exposure time: 1/500 sec
F-stop: f/4.5
I love this shot as it shows both Ryan Moore and The Queen in relaxed mode. It had been pointed out that they were wearing the same colours and were sharing the joke. It looks such a natural shot and made the picture more interesting in what can sometimes be very repetitive and formulaic surroundings.

Celebrating a winner
Date: 18.06.16
Location: Ascot Racecourse
Race: Hardwick Stakes, won by Dartmouth
Camera: Canon EOS-1D X
Exposure time: 1/250 sec
F-stop: f/5
Just two days after the previous shot, The Queen was in the winners’ enclosure again, but this time celebrating a winner. The glee on her face sums up what racing means to her, and she has an amazing ability that when she smiles, everyone else around her seems to smile naturally too – just look at Sir Michael Stoute. This was one of a series of great shots I managed to get of them celebrating – again a case of right places, right time.
