Board elections

30 March 2020

The Racehorse Owners Association (ROA) is looking for suitable candidates to stand for a place on its Board.

To qualify, applicants must be a registered owner and have at least one horse in training in Great Britain (or have done so during the previous 12 months), or have part-ownership that amounts to at least one horse.  Horses owned under the names of spouses will qualify for this purpose.

Candidates should be passionate about improving the racehorse ownership experience, be able to attend monthly meetings and be willing to draw on their experiences and knowledge to help shape the racing industry for the future.

A vote amongst all ROA members will decide the successful candidates. The outcome of the election will be announced at the ROA AGM on Tuesday 30th June 2020, with successful candidates taking their place on the Board from July.  A Board member’s tenure is three years, after which they are entitled to stand for re-election.

There are three places available on the 2020 ROA Board.

Also this year we are changing the format by which you can apply to stand, and how our members can vote.  If you would like to stand, please contact [email protected] and you will be sent a link via which to complete your application.  This application must reach us by noon on Wednesday 1 April 2020.

If you would like further information on the election process please see our Articles of Association online at www.roa.co.uk/get-involved/articles.html. However, if you would like to discuss the process further please contact the team by email [email protected].

Voting will be conducted online this year, so look out for an email outlining the candidates who are standing and the voting instructions in late April.  If you wish to receive the voting forms by post please contact us on [email protected]
