From Quills to Apps - the Weatherbys visit had it all

Members were given the opportunity to find out more about the workings of Weatherbys on Tuesday during a members visit to their Wellingborough offices.

As well as seeing the old Stud Books dating back centuries, members were also shown a look into the future with the new Apps and Websites coming online shortly including the tools enabling Vets to log foal markings easier and digital passports.

A wealth of information is dealt with by Weatherbys - over 200,000 entries processed, 4,800 foal registrations, compilations of over 24,000 pedigree pages for sales catalogues, 3.7million racecards produced and 13,000 horses named during the course of a year. And their commercial arm is still expanding and exploring new ideas, including their new event branding line and Global Stallions App. 

They will be celebrating their 250th anniversary next year, but are continuing to grow and develop to change with the times.

Members came away very surprised at all the various components Weatherbys are involved with - with one saying they are now not just a line on their bank statement any more!
