Details announced for Jessica Bethell Foundation dinner

The Jessica Bethell Foundation has announced their annual dinner will this year take place on Tuesday 10 May at York Racecourse.

It will be the tenth anniversary of the dinner. Sally Bethell and her husband, retired trainer James formed The Jessica Bethell Foundation in 2015 as a lasting tribute to their beloved daughter who tragically died in October 2012, having contracted Meningitis.

He received a knighthood in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2021 for services to Public Health, especially in the pandemic.

He was the chief investigator for the clinical trials of the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in 2020, which led to the authorisation of the vaccine for use in more than 175 countries with over 2 billion doses distributed by the end of 2021.

The evening will again be raising money for Meningitis Research following on from their recent project with Professor Sir Andrew Pollard. The evening will also give updates on the Racing Welfare House in Middleham the organisation is also supporting.
