Bid now to win the ultimate Glorious Goodwood experience: www.bidtogive.co.uk
This month the ROA launches the all-new Bid to Give monthly online auction, in aid of charity partner Racing Welfare.
The auction is a joint venture with Racing Welfare, with whom the ROA has partnered since the beginning of 2022. Unique lots will be available exclusively to ROA members and will consist of unrivalled luxury experiences and opportunities throughout the year.
The first lot to kick off proceedings this month is a Glorious Goodwood experience like no other. The successful bidder will be treated to a two-day money can’t buy experience, with day one centred around hospitality for four in The Charlton Hunt restaurant at the iconic Qatar Goodwood Festival. On the day, guests will be met by a top jockey who will accompany them on a course walk and offer a preview of the day’s racing before enjoying unrivalled views of the course, parade ring access for the feature race and fine dining five course A La Carte menu in The Charlton Hunt. An overnight stay with two rooms at the fabulous Goodwood Hotel follows before playing a round on Goodwood’s award-winning golf course to end the weekend in style.
The auction is now live – get your bids in before midday on 14th July to secure the ultimate Glorious Goodwood experience: www.bidtogive.co.uk
The proceeds from every lot sold through Bid to Give will directly benefit the people working on our sport’s front line - people like Sam, who has been a key member of the Goodwood grounds team for more than 12 years. Sam came to Racing Welfare for support with his mental health in 2022, he said: “I’d got to the point where I was struggling; trying to balance work and life, turning 30 was a big thing for me… my girlfriend noticed that I wasn’t smiling, wasn’t engaging in the same way that I used to.”
Sam accessed several sessions of Talking Therapy through Racing’s Support Line and is very open about how it has changed his life and outlook. He said: “Racing Welfare’s support got the ball rolling for me and really got me thinking about my mental health. Now I’ve opened that door I feel so much more confident in going forward and getting help for myself when the pressure of life starts to take a toll.
“I was seeing a local therapist on a weekly basis, but now I see them less regularly and book a session as and when I feel the need to speak to someone – to get something off my chest.
“I’m really grateful to Racing Welfare for the support they gave me and for helping me take that first step.”
