Armstrong to step down from RCA
The Racecourse Association (RCA) has today announced that its Chief Executive, David Armstrong, will step down from his role at the end of December 2025, after almost seven years of service.
David Armstrong commented: “It has been a privilege to lead the RCA and to work alongside such a dedicated team and our member racecourses over the past seven years. Together we have navigated some of the most challenging times the industry has faced, while also delivering real progress and innovation. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved and remain confident that the RCA will continue to go from strength to strength. I would like to thank colleagues, stakeholders and friends across the industry for their support, and I look forward to seeing British racing thrive in the years ahead.”
RCA Chair, Wilf Walsh, said: “David has been an outstanding leader of the RCA and played a pivotal role in guiding the industry through the COVID pandemic and the subsequent strategic and governance re-shaping. He has been a strong and effective advocate for racecourses throughout his tenure, and he leaves with our sincere thanks and best wishes for the future.”
The RCA will begin the process of recruiting David’s successor in due course.
