ROA and RSA launch series championing shared ownership
The Racehorse Owners Association (ROA), in collaboration with the Racehorse Syndicates Association (RSA), is pleased to announce a new series of shared ownership raceday activations for 2026.
Taking place across British racecourses, the programme is designed to showcase the accessibility and appeal of racehorse ownership and membership, and to encourage more racing fans to take their first step into experiencing ownership.
Shared ownership continues to be a key opportunity for British racing. A recent survey of 2,500 racing fans, conducted by Great British Racing, found that 68% of respondents not currently involved in shared ownership would be interested in becoming involved if presented with the right opportunity. Furthermore, extensive research conducted through the industry-led Project Beacon has identified clear opportunities to grow shared ownership, particularly within racing’s core fan audiences.
Building on previous successful initiatives, the ROA and RSA are establishing a regular programme of activity in partnership with racecourses in England, Scotland and Wales showcasing shared ownership. We are working with the racecourses ahead of each day to enhance the on-course experience with activities to include the opportunity for Syndicates and Racing Clubs to showcase their offerings, Shared Ownership talks, and trainer visits before racing for fans to experience the behind-the-scenes insight ownership offers.

David Letts, ROA Shared Ownership Lead, said:
“The breadth of options across Shared Ownership provides a huge opportunity for British horseracing – involvement in shared ownership allows people to get closer to the stars of our sport, experiencing the benefits of ownership at a level suitable for their circumstances.
We know that Shared Ownership provides a key vehicle to engage racing fans and further develop their relationship with the sport – by taking opportunities to racegoers, we can build a more engaged fanbase for the benefit of the entire industry. This series demonstrates the power of collaborative working, and we are grateful to the RSA and participating racecourses for their support in showcasing what shared ownership can offer.”
Anyone interested in supporting or attending a shared ownership raceday and would like to find out more information, please visit the relevant racecourse website to book a ticket for that raceday.
