Welcome for Plus 10 bonus scheme
The ROA has welcomed the announcement of the new Plus 10 bonus scheme being launched for 2015.
Plus 10 will replace the British Owners and Breeders Incentive Scheme (BOBIS) and the Racing Post Yearling Bonus Scheme (RPYBS), and will cover Britain and Ireland.
It combines the best of BOBIS and RPYBS with the continued aims of rejuvenating foal crop numbers, improving field sizes, encouraging fillies in training, and increasing ownership numbers by improving returns to owners.
Richard Wayman, Chief Executive of the ROA, said: “It is a great positive for racing that the organisers of BOBIS and RPYBS have come together to establish Plus 10. The new, unified bonus scheme consolidates improvements in returns for owners of younger horses. The chance to win £7,500 for an outlay of £350 offers excellent potential value to owners.”

Eligibility
Horses are eligible for Plus10 if they are by a stallion or out of a mare that is based in Britain or Ireland. Breeders must pay to register a horse at foal and yearling stages. To see if a horse has been registered, you can use the search facility at www.plus10bonus.com.
Owner registration
Provided a horse has been registered by the breeder, owners can nominate their eligible two year olds by paying £350 by 31st March. The fee is reduced to £300 if paid when the horse is still a yearling. Registration forms can be found on www.plus10bonus.com.
Races
Plus 10 is directed mostly towards two year olds, but includes some three year old races. The scheme comprises all class 2-4 maiden, novice and conditions races, and class 5 fillies’ maidens. Once fully operational in 2016, Plus 10 will support 424 British and 125 Irish races.
Prizes
Plus 10 races carry a £10,000 bonus for an eligible winning horse, on top of the race prize money. Of the £10,000, the owner receives £7,500. If a registered horse is sold on, the new owner wins any subsequent prizes. Horses can win multiple Plus 10 bonuses.
Transition
BOBIS will continue in 2015 for three year olds only. 2013 foals will automatically be transferred onto Plus 10 unless requested otherwise, in which case registration fees will be refunded.
