Title: From paddock to winning post see how we make it happen – Getting Started in Thoroughbred Breeding

Thoroughbred breeding is one of the most rewarding ways to deepen your involvement in racing, but for many owners it can feel like an industry within an industry; one that's hard to break into without the right guidance.

This webinar is designed to change that.

Join host Naomi Mellor for an honest, informal conversation with racehorse owner turned breeder Emma Banks and industry expert Joe Grimwade, as they share what it really takes to make the transition from the track to the breeding paddock.

What you'll take away

A real owner's perspective. Emma will share her own journey into breeding — the moment she decided to make the leap, what she wished she'd known, and what keeps her coming back. If you've ever been curious about breeding but weren't sure it was for you, her story might just change your mind.

Practical knowledge from an expert. Joe Grimwade has managed some of the country's most respected stud farms and authored the TBA's Broodmare Ownership Guide. He'll walk you through what to consider before getting started, how to assess whether your filly is a breeding prospect, and what entry-level involvement actually looks like — including options for different budgets.

Answers to the questions you've been afraid to ask. Does my filly need to have won a race? What does it cost? How do I find the right stud farm? We'll be covering all of this and more — including a live Q&A where you can put your own questions directly to the guests.

A clear next step. You won't leave this session wondering what to do next. It will point you to the resources, guidance, and support available to help you move forward with confidence — including where to access the TBA's free Broodmare Ownership Guide.

Whether you're an experienced owner with a filly nearing the end of her racing career, or simply someone who wants to understand more about how thoroughbreds are bred and why it matters, this session is for you. No prior knowledge required — just a curiosity about what comes next.
