Under normal circumstances, the following applies:
The number of owners allowed to attend per horse in Wales is two.
The impact of the coronavirus pandemic has affected the owners experience, particularly in Wales.
In summary, Welsh Government regulations allow gatherings of up to 30 people for the same purpose but it has to be outside. We are therefore having to limit the number of owners who can attend to two people. Owners should arrive 30 minutes before their horse is scheduled to run and leave no more than 30 minutes after the race. This minimises the risk of the racecourse reaching the 30 person limit. We are in regular contact with Welsh Government, along with BHA, and will continue to make the case to allow more owners to attend fixtures in Wales.
Owners who live in a local lockdown area in Wales are not allowed to attend and owners living in a local lockdown area England need to adhere to the advice given by their local authority.
We advise that you bring evidence of your home address. Strict protocols will be in place to ensure the health and wellbeing of all owners.
Face masks are required on arrival only, and all attendees will be required to utilise the NHS Track and Trace QR code at the racecourse entrance. We will, of course, ensure indoor toilet facilities are available.
The Welsh Government guidance for owners attending Chepstow changed at 6pm on Friday 4th December.
We are limited to a total of 30 owners across the entire race day. In addition, these owners must be located outside. Internal toilets are, of course, available. In order to manage this as fairly as possible, owners will be allocated badges on a first come, first served basis.
Owners from England can attend providing they are coming from a Tier 1 or 2 area. Owners living in a Tier 3 area in England can only attend if it is for work purposes.
To assist us in logging the received enquiries correctly owners will not be able to book badges via PASS but must e-mail Lucy Newman –firstname.lastname@example.org. We are allowing a maximum of two badges per horse. The badges will then be allocated on to the PASS system and will be available for owners to print off at home. If you could please provide your name(s), postcode and PASS number(s) in your email that would be much appreciated and will enable us to allocate the badges accordingly.
Once the allocation of 30 badges has been reached, we will be unable take anymore bookings.
Owners will not be restricted in terms of time spent on the racecourse. No food or alcohol will be available. Hot and cold drinks will be available and there will be a big screen to enhance viewing for owners.
Face coverings must be worn at all times and temperature checks will take place on entry.
Owners will be based in the ‘amber’ zone and will directed to this area on arrival in the main car park.
