Your 2025 ROA Horseracing Awards Winners - as voted by members!
Last night, the racing community gathered at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London for the 43rd ROA Horseracing Awards - a celebration of the owners and horses who lit up the 2024/25 jump and flat seasons.
And once again, you, our members, decided the winners across all 18 award categories. Thank you to everyone who took the time to cast a vote and shape this year’s honours
ROA Horse of the Year – Calandagan
Owned by Aga Khan Studs, Calandagan enjoyed a remarkable 2025 campaign, winning the King George and Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud before producing a brilliant performance in the Champion Stakes at Ascot. He then underlined his world-class ability by rounding off the season with a stunning Japan Cup victory.
ROA Owner of the Year - JP McManus
Crowned for the second consecutive year, JP McManus enjoyed another outstanding National Hunt season, including major Grade 1 success with Inothewayurthinkin, Fact To File, Jonbon, and The New Lion, who also collected the Outstanding Novice Hurdler Award.
New for 2025, two Arena Racing Company (ARC) sponsored syndicate and racing club categories highlighted the growing strength and accessibility of shared ownership:
ARC Syndicate/Racing Club – Small: Joint winners - Basher Watts Racing & Barraston Racing & JS Goldie
ARC Syndicate/Racing Club – Large: Middleham Park Racing
These winners reflect the incredible impact syndicates are having in bringing more people into ownership and delivering new stories and successes for our sport.

Thank you to all ROA owners for voting and celebrating the owners and horses who have lit up racecourses this year.” Dr Jim Walker, ROA Chair
We hope you enjoyed this year's celebrations, and again, thank you to every owner who voted.
