Dan Horsford only started training in 2025, with his first winner over the jumps, Robber’s Bridge, coming in April at Market Rasen, followed ten days later by their first flat winner, Nivelle's Magic at Southwell. He recently introduced the exciting bumper horse Trojan Tale and is running to an impressive strike rate of 15%. 

Dan started out with Jim Boyle at age 12, before stints with Clive Cox and Warren Greatrex brought him to Barbury in 2010. Quickly rising to Assistant Trainer for Alan King, and with a sabbatical at Roger Varian’s during this time, he ran the ‘Sharpridge’ yard for 12 years with Group and Grade One stars such as Trueshan, Yanworth and Balder Succes under his care.

After 12 years as assistant to Alan King, Dan trains under his own name from Sharpridge, a yard he knows inside out.
