ARC Racecourses

There are two options now for owners with runners at ARC courses:

OPTION A - 8 Owners Badges

8 badges are available for each horse, offering complimentary access to the racecourse, as well as the specific Owners facilities.  Complimentary food and a bar will be available to all Owners Badge holders, along with access to the Parade Ring and Winners Enclosure. Owners will be required to register via PASS ahead of the meeting, and can purchase extra badges at the O&T desk at 50% of on the day General Admittance, subject to capacity of O&T facilities.

OR

OPTION B - 15 Complimentary General Admittance Badges

Owners (particularly commercial syndicates) who would prefer to bring a higher number of people to watch their horse race, rather than specific catering or facilities may claim 15 complimentary general admittance badges to attend per horse.  In addition, each horse will be allocated 8 paddock passes to be shared amongst their group to be used ahead of their race.

To claim this option, please contact the specific syndicates email address that will be included in the letter your receive from the racecourse, noting the names of those who you wish to attend, and clearly noting the syndicate leader to whom paddock passes shall be allocated.

It is 37 miles south of Bristol and 38 miles north of Bournemouth. There is free parking at the racecourse and places allocated for disabled drivers are available in all car parks.
From Bournemouth, follow the signs towards Blandford on the A350. Continue on the A350 until the traffic lights north of Blandford. At the traffic lights turn left towards Sturminster Newton on the A357. Take the A357 and continue through numerous villages. Bypass Sturminster Newton, remaining on the A357 and then follow the signs to Stalbridge and Wincanton. As you come into Wincanton town centre the racecourse is sign posted and is on the B3081 towards Bruton.
From Bristol follow the signs for Shepton Mallet on the A37 and at Shepton Mallet follow signs to Castle Cary and Wincanton on the A371. Follow the signs for Wincanton town centre and the racecourse is approximately 1 mile from the town on the B3081, on the left hand side.
By Rail: The nearest train station is Templecombe, which is on the Waterloo-Exeter line and is 4 miles south of Wincanton. There is a raceday courtesy bus service from Templecombe to the racecourse and it meets the train from Waterloo before racing and returns to the station at the end of the day. Times vary according to the train timetable and race times but can be found on the fixture's page on this web site in the run up to the day. Other stations in the area are Castle Cary, which is on the Paddington-Bristol line and is 8 miles north of Wincanton, and Bruton which is on the same line and is approximately 4 miles from Wincanton.
By Air: There is a helicopter landing site in the centre of the course and anyone travelling by helicopter must inform the Racecourse Office prior to the day to obtain a grid reference. The local airport is Henstridge which is 7 miles south of Wincanton. National airports in the region are Bristol, Bournemouth and Exeter.

Jockey Club Racecourses very much looks forward to welcoming Owners to our courses, with many of the Covid protocols now removed from the raceday experience, as of 19th July. Your patience and support since we welcomed owners back to our courses in April has been hugely appreciated.

As it was before March 2020, we will be delighted to offer six Owners badges to those with runners on the day, as well as lunch in our Owners facilities, access to the paddock etc. Syndicates will be offered the choice of Owners badges or a larger selection of General Admission badges (syndicate managers should speak to the individual racecourses at the entry stage to arrange details).

We will also continue to support the Racecourse Badge Scheme for Owners, offering General Admission tickets to the majority of our fixtures for those who do not have runners on the raceday but still wish to come racing.
