New £60,000 race at Glorious Goodwood

 

Goodwood Racecourse are delighted to announce an exciting new addition to the Wednesday card at Qatar Goodwood Festival presented by Visit Qatar (Wednesday 29th July). The race is a six-furlong Handicap open to horses aged 3yo+, rated 0–80, with a prize fund of £40,000.

At Goodwood we support ownership of all levels and this new race gives the opportunity for owners with horses who may not have the highest rating the chance to run at one of the most celebrated summer flat racing Festivals.

This initiative reflects Goodwood's ongoing commitment to supporting smaller owners, alongside initiatives such as a minimum prize fund of £20,000 for all Novice and Maiden races.

 

 

The Goodwood executive have introduced enhanced prize-money for their six-furlong handicap on the Wednesday of Glorious Goodwood.

The 0-80 sprint for three-year-olds and upwards is now worth £40,000, with over £20,000 going to the winning horse.

Entries are by noon on Thursday July 23 (£200) and declarations as usual on Monday 27 July.
